Two Eagles Distillery, founded in 2017, is the passion project of three friends with a thirst for finely crafted spirits and a simple belief that quality matters.  We’re very proud to be the first Distillery in Mount Prospect, a near suburb of Chicago, Illinois.  Beginning with our flagship offering, 100 Mile Vodka®, Two Eagles is focused on creating the highest quality spirits and beverages, sourcing local ingredients and listening to the wants of our clients and the community.

Matthew Georgacakis-Nurre – Master Distiller

Matt Georgacakis-Nurre grew up in Iowa, and comes from a long line of  farmers going back to the 1840s.  After high school he double majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry at University of Iowa.   The idea to make alcohol first came to Matt when camping with his cousins enjoying wine his grandfather had made.   After years working for Pfizer and then in flavors and fragrances focusing on Research and Development, he refined his passion and founded Two Eagles.
Matt lives in Mount Prospect with his wife of 5 years and their 2 boys.  He enjoys the outdoors and looks forward to taking his boys camping in the coming years

Jesse Zien – Operations Manager

Jesse Zien received his BS of Math from Creighton University (2004) and his MBA from Loyola (2006).  Jesse began his professional career as Director of Operations at International Merchant Services, a near $1B sales organization.  In 2014 he was recruited into the issuing side of banking as a Vice President of Operations and Technology, focusing on the Retail Private Label products and digital banking.
In his personal time, Jesse enjoys spending time with his wife of 9 years, Jessica,  and his two sons.  He continues to be involved in Water polo since high school, where he fell in love with the game.  He remains active as a club player and officiates high school games.

Aaron Johnson – Business Manager

Aaron gained his business acumen in the payments industry including overseeing underwriting and collections for a POS equipment leasing company, executing POS system deployment and support for a leading independent sales organization, and managing the referral partner relationship and sales process for a large referral bank relationship in Chicago with over 100 branches.  Aaron currently oversees Risk Management, Underwriting & Compliance for a national Payment Acquirer.
Aaron resides in Northwest Indiana with his wife of 11 years and their two children. In spare time he enjoys spending time with family, golfing, visiting craft breweries and watching Chicago sports teams.  Bear Down!
